How many Images will you be uploading?
PhotoDune offers both Web form as well as FTP upload. Unless you plan on submitting less than 5 images then we highly recommend using the FTP upload service.
FTP upload instructions
We recommend uploading in batches based on common release forms (eg. by photo shoot) so that the release forms attached are relevant to most or all of the images in the batch. All uploaded images are automatically linked to all the uploaded model releases.
Uploads must be promptly processed as the files are automatically deleted from the FTP hard drive after 24 hours.
Before uploading we recommend adding IPTC/XMP data to automatically extract the Title, Description & Tags.
- Open your FTP client and enter the following details:
Host: ftp.marketplace.envato.com
UserName: [your marketplace username]
Password: [your marketplace password]
Port: 21
We recommend using the free FileZilla FTP client, although any FTP client will do. - Connect and browse to /bulk_import/photos/ and upload your images. If your images do not require model or property release forms skip step 3 and proceed to step 4.
- Upload model or property release forms to /bulk_import/photos/model_releases/. These release forms will be automatically attached to each image in the FTP upload.
- Login to PhotoDune and proceed to the Author Dashboard and click on the begin Upload button. Listed under the FTP Uploader window you should see X Items Pending which are now ready for processing (See screenshot below). Click the Process button and go make a coffee while we process your images.
Time for image processing varies depending on the number of images submitted and can take up to several hours for large portfolios. A status update message will be displayed on successful processing. After successful upload, the next step is image submission for review.
