GraphicRiver: Keynote Template Upload Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your File

  1. Organize your design into easy to edit, clearly labeled layers–this means both your template and accompanying art files. Please remember that the more editable your file is, the more valuable it is to buyers.  Double check that you’ve provided organized and clearly labeled layers, help documents, and made it as easy as possible for buyers to edit and customize your work.
  2. Make sure you have all the information about any assets used in the file–you’ll need this later! If your assets are linked to the main file, be certain you’ve included them in your zip.
  3. Create useful, written instructions in English for the buyer in either pdf, doc, txt, or html format. Keep in mind that buyers may have little to no familiarity with design or presentation software, so incorporate clear explanations and visuals when necessary. You may create video or flash instructions in addition to, but not instead of text instructions. Read more.
  4. Files often react differently upon editing or printing. Please be sure to test and sample your file thoroughly.
Helpful Hint: It’s helpful if you only upload 1-4 items at a time to avoid getting many files rejected for a simple mistake.

Step 2: Make Sure That You and Your File Don’t Get Banned

  1. Do not upload borrowed assets. Most freebies and downloads from stock sites are not licensed for redistribution and resale.
Note: ”Commercial” licenses are NOT the same as redistribution and resale. When in doubt, get permission from the asset author or make your own.
  2. Only use images, photos, icons, brushes, filters, textures, patterns, and other assets which you have the rights to use. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure you have the rights to use any materials. We will remove or reject your file if it violates another person’s copyright or trademark. Please review this article for more information on acceptable assets.
  3. Do not create a file based on a tutorial.
  4. You may not copy the design, style, or technique of files from GraphicRiver or elsewhere. There is a fine line between being inspired by another file and copying it. If you upload a file that looks too similar to another file, it will be removed and you will receive a warning.
  5. Do not use trademarked logos or products in your file. This also includes product illustrations which include products obviously modeled after trademarked product designs. (e.g., please do not submit an illustration that is obviously an Apple iPhone or a Nintendo controller) Product illustrations must have aspects that differ noticably from the copyrighted product. Do not refer to any item in your submission as a logo.
  6. Do not use famous landmarks, architecture, or works or art (such as the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty) that are protected under U.S. or International copyright laws.

    3. Under the words “Preview Image”, click the dropdown and select the preview image.
  4. Presentation Screenshots
    1. Name each screenshot in sequence as number_Title.jpg. E.g. 1_Homepage.jpg2_Generalpage.jpg.
    2. Create a .TXT file containing a few lines of descriptive text, with the same name as the screenshot. E.g. 1_Homepage.txt,2_Generalpage.txt.
    3. ZIP up the JPGs and TXTs together into a single ZIP file.
  5. Main Files
    1. Zip (not Rar) all the files the buyer will need, including all the files and instructions. Files should be organized within the zip as logically as possible. Name it main.zip.
    2. Click Upload and select main.zip on your computer.
    3. Under the word “Main File(s)” click the dropdown and select main.zip.

  6. Categories & Attributes
    1. Select a category.
    2. Select your file formats included in the ZIP. If you have a particular format that is not included (such as one of many varied add-on formats) please choose the software format that it would be used with.
  7. Tags
    1. Write relevant tags, separated by commas, in each of the three tag fields. Please note that tags may contain multiple words. ex: “cross-media” or “community service”
    2. Make sure each tag is spelled correctly (using American Standard English).
    3. Limit your tags across all three categories to 15 total, not 15 per category.
Helpful Hint - Effective and relevant tagging can make the difference between 10 and 100 sales. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential buyer looking for your file. Try to imagine what they’d search for. Test out that search. Ask the people around you what they would search for.
