Listed below are some examples of what the Regular and Extended licenses on VideoHive can be used for by category. You should also read the precise licensing terms, and the simplified overview to understand how our licenses work.

The information presented below is provided to assist you understand our licensing regime and the ways in which you may use the products which are available for sale on VideoHive. This information does not form part of the license terms. In the event there is any inconsistency between the license terms and the following information then the license terms will prevail and will be what regulates your use of the product you buy.

Important Note: Not all uses for items are listed below. If your intended use does not match any of the examples below, please refer to the license terms.

Important Note: Each item within a pack is considered to have its own license. For example, someone could purchase a pack of 10 video clips and use each clip in a different project, as long as each individual clip is used in one project only.

Stock Footage

Regular License Examples
The Regular License could be used for any of the following:

  1. Single advert, whether on radio, TV or the internet.
  2. Single logo revealer or company identity.
  3. Single company training video.
  4. Single promotional video.
  5. Single green screen background for your or your client’s use.
  6. Single free online video such as a free tutorial, animation, cartoon or YouTube™ video.
  7. Single wedding or event videos.
  8. Single website (commercial, personal, or non-profit).
  9. Single website for a client (commercial, personal, or non-profit).
  10. Single free-to-download videocast series.
  11. Single video you have created for yourself or for a client that is free for users to access/view.
  12. Single video or film you produce as a student that are not intended for sale.
  13. Single home movie or photo slide show.
  14. Single free e-card or game.


Extended License Examples
The Extended License could be used for any of the following:

  1. Single film or TV show.
  2. DVD Menu that will be distributed.
  3. Single paid-for or subscription-based videocast series.
  4. Single green screen background to be sold.
  5. Single piece of computer software or training material, including education material, intended to be distributed or accessed by multiple people.
  6. Single commercial game, whether online, or for computers, or for consoles etc.

How much does the Extended License cost for Stock Footage?
The Extended license costs 10 times the cost of the Regular license of the item. For example, stock footage that’s $5 under a Regular license, would be $50 (10 x $5) under an Extended license.

Important Notes
Packs of items are each considered to have their own license. For example, someone could purchase a regular license of a pack of stock videos, and use each piece of footage within a different project, as long as they only used each piece of footage in one project only.

Stock Footage purchased under a regular or extended license may NOT be used within other Envato marketplace items.

Items purchased under a regular or extended license may NOT be redistributed or resold “as-is” or as part of any other collection of image resources or files.

Motion Graphics
